RED SNAPPER TRIPS

12 Hour Trip from 5am to 5 pm are now available for booking. The fee is $225.00 with a $10 rod rental (if needed). We do have assigned seating for these trips. Tickets purchased online must be paid in full and will guarantee a spot on the trip.

You can also book by phone (727-446-1653). For these bookings, a minimum $100 deposit will be required to hold your spot. Balance must be paid in full 48 hours prior to trip departure. Reservations cancelled outside of the 48 hour window will be eligible for a refund. Reservations cancelled inside the 48 hour window can elect to transfer money to another trip or hold in account for future bookings. Target species include: Red/Mangrove/Vermillion/Yellowtail Snapper, Red/Scamp Grouper, Hogfish and Porgies. If bringing your own gear, please have no less than 50# test line, 6-8 oz sinkers and 5/0-7/0 circle hooks.

30 HOUR RED SNAPPER TRIPS

Trip price $450 plus $20 rod rental and $25 cot rental, if needed. Live bait included. Two day bag limit. Trips typically depart Saturday at 5am returning Sunday at 11am. Online sales must be paid in full. Phone bookings require a minimum $100 deposit; balance due 48 hours prior to departure.

Family serranidae, SEA BASSES AND GROUPER Epinephelus morio

Description: Color brownish red; lining of mouth scarlet-orange; blotches on sides in unorganized pattern; second spine of dorsal fin longer than others; pectoral fins longer than pelvic fins; squared off tail; margin of soft dorsal black with white at midfin; black dots around the eyes.
Similar Fish: Nassau grouper, M. bonaci.
Where Found: Bottom dwelling fish associated with hard bottom; juveniles OFFSHORE along with adults greater than 6 years old; fish from 1 to 6 years occupy NEARSHORE reefs.


Size: Common to 15 punds.

Remarks: Spawns in April and May; perfer water temperatures between 66 and 77 degrees F; undergoes sex reversal, young individual females becoming males as they age, lifespan of at least 25 years; feeds on squid, crustaceans, and fish.
