RED SNAPPER TRIPS

12 Hour Trip from 5am to 5 pm are now available for booking. The fee is $225.00 with a $10 rod rental (if needed). We do have assigned seating for these trips. Tickets purchased online must be paid in full and will guarantee a spot on the trip.

You can also book by phone (727-446-1653). For these bookings, a minimum $100 deposit will be required to hold your spot. Balance must be paid in full 48 hours prior to trip departure. Reservations cancelled outside of the 48 hour window will be eligible for a refund. Reservations cancelled inside the 48 hour window can elect to transfer money to another trip or hold in account for future bookings. Target species include: Red/Mangrove/Vermillion/Yellowtail Snapper, Red/Scamp Grouper, Hogfish and Porgies. If bringing your own gear, please have no less than 50# test line, 6-8 oz sinkers and 5/0-7/0 circle hooks.

30 HOUR RED SNAPPER TRIPS

Trip price $450 plus $20 rod rental and $25 cot rental, if needed. Live bait included. Two day bag limit. Trips typically depart Saturday at 5am returning Sunday at 11am. Online sales must be paid in full. Phone bookings require a minimum $100 deposit; balance due 48 hours prior to departure.

Black Sea Bass
Family Serranidae, SEA BASSES AND GROUPER Centropristis striata

Description: Basic color dark brown or black; dorsal fin has rows and stripes of white on black; large males have irridescent blue and ebony markings, and fatty hump in front of dorsal fin; females may have indistinct vertical barrings; topmost ray of caudal fin much elongated in adults; caudal may be tri-lobed; sharp spine near posterior margin of gill cover.
Similar Fish: Bank Sea Bass C. ocyurus; other centropristis..
Where Found: Structure-loving fish, associated with reefs and rubble OFFSHORE; smaller specimens often found INSHORE finger channels. 

Size: common to 1.5 punds (13 inches).

Remarks: spawns January through March; Protogynous hermaphrodites, older females becoming breeding males; omnivorous bottom feeders, diet including small fish, crustaceans, and shell fish.
